Gas Fuelling Technology are the market leaders in the deliverance of VGP technology to the UK oil and gas industry. Countries across the world are addressing the need to harness methane emissions and engage in Gas to Energy projects. These ambitious projects have been largely responsible for achieving considerable progress in advancing environmental programs.
The Energy Industry
Methane emissions are produced by the energy industry and GFT’s VGP System is the ideal solution for capturing and utilizing gas at Onshore Oil and Coal fields. The methane produced from these sources is often not utilised because of the remote location away from main gas and electricity distribution infrastructures. This makes the traditional methods of collection and utilisation (pipelines or high tension cables) non cost effective.
Compare the costs of VGP to traditional methods such as flaring.
Landfill Projects
Landfill waste disposal sites contribute very highly to methane emission. VGP Technology can be used to contain the methane and prepare it for the gas to energy process. New targets set in place by the European Union means that Britain has to make dramatic improvements to its landfill management.BMW was declared ‘Energy Partner of the Year 2006’ by the EPA as it became involved in the Landfill Methane Outreach Program in the USA. Briggs Hamilton, BMW Manufacturing's environmental section manager said,
‘Three of our core principles are innovation, protecting the environment, and being a good corporate citizen," said Briggs Hamilton, BMW Manufacturing's environmental section manager. "This is such a positive for everyone involved. There literally hasn't been a downside to this project. This project allows us to take a previously wasted energy source and use it to generate electricity and heat for our plant, this results in lower emissions, which helps to protect the environment and the community."
